INTERNSHIPS AND EMPLOYMENT

EMPLOYMENT:

Currently there are no employment opportunities.

INTERNSHIPS:

If you are interested in becoming involved with the Iraqi and American Reconciliation Project and can commit 10-20 hours per week (September to May) or a minimum of 20 hours per week during the summer, consider becoming an intern with IARP. Interns play an integral role by assisting with activities such as research, writing, media relations, development, translation, or event planning as well as administrative tasks in our projects and programs (All internships include administrative duties and IARP internships do not offer financial compensation).

If you are applying for an outside fellowship (i.e. you will have a source of outside funding while you intern at IARP) through your school or a fellowship program, you must submit your application materials to IARP at least 4 weeks in advance of the deadline for your fellowship application. If you are applying for a fellowship, please use the intern application form and note that you applying for a fellowship. Proposed fellowships must be directly related to IARP’s program areas.

Many interns are students; however internship positions are also open to others.  During the school year most interns work 8-12 hours per week. During the summer most interns work 20-40 hours per week. We have fall, spring and summer internships that roughly follow school calendars. We also seek interns for the month of mid-December to mid-January and for the month of August. You can apply for these internships specifically or extend them into a fall, spring, or summer internship. If you are able to extend your internship, please note this on the application form.

Internship applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

To apply for any of these internships, please download the Intern Application (Word document) and include a cover letter, resume, and either a brief (3-5 pages) writing sample or 3-5 visual samples with your application. Please email your application (MS Word) to luke@reconciliationproject.org or mail the application to:

Please note, not all programs will need interns every term. You may email luke@reconciliationproject.org if you would like to find out if a specific program is seeking interns for a particular time period.
