Iraqi Art Exhibit at the University of Minnesota

Posted on September 29, 2010 by

The University of Minnesota Department of Family Social Science is pleased to offer an exhibit of paintings by seven contemporary Iraqi artists. The 11 paintings range from sharp-focused compositions, with abstract motifs, fragmentation, and distortion, to environmental portraits highlighting pastoral landscapes. The range of color and subject matter personalize artists working in the heart of conflict.

On view Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. – 4 p.m., at 290 McNeal Hall through December 2010.

The paintings are on loan from the Iraqi and American Reconciliation Project.
