Public debate on U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East
Advocates will be debating both sides of the proposition: are United States democracy promotion efforts in the Greater Middle East justified?
Participants will include Robert Nechal, a long-time facilitator with the Alternatives to Violence Project and the current President of Friends for a Non-Violent World (FNVW) and Michael A. Baumann, a retired U.S. Army officer with extensive field experience in the Middle East. The debate will be held on the University of Minnesota campus on Monday, November 29, 2010, starting at 7:00pm in Willey Hall 125 at the University of Minnesota (on the west bank near the law school).
